Below is the answer given by Barack Obama when asked about his association with a former member of the Weather Underground terrorist group, William Ayers, in last night’s debate.

…The fact is I am also friendly with Senator Tom Coburn—one of the most conservative republicans— who—said—might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carry out abortions—do I need to apologize for Mr. Corburn’s statement—

What the heck?

In Ayer’s book, Fugitive Days: A Memoir, ironically published on September 11, 2001. Ayers opens with his statement, ‘I dont regret setting bombs, I feel we didnt do enough.’ In 1981 Ayers and his cohort, turned themselves into the authorities in 1981. All charges against him were eventually dropped because of prosecutorial misconduct.
